Dan Shipper blogs from the DNC

Hey all!

My name is Dan Shipper, and I am a junior at Princeton Day School, in Princeton, New Jersey.  So before I tell you about what I am going to be doing on this blog, I want to tell you a little bit about myself.

First off, I am extremely interested in politics especially the 2008 election, and am a participant in my school’s Junior State of America, and Model UN programs. I am an editor of the Opinions section for my school’s newspaper, and have always enjoyed writing both journalistically and otherwise.  I also enjoy writing software, and sell my creations through my company, Convenience Software.  Aside from these things, I am a huge fan of The Office, and ardently follow the Jets.

I got the amazing chance to go to the DNC through my involvement with the aforementioned Junior State of America, or JSA.  JSA is a really cool organization, which has a year round program that is almost entirely student run where students come together to debate current political issues.  JSA also has another branch which organizes summer schools, summer symposiums and trips to the DNC and RNC.  I would highly recommend any high school students who are visiting this blog to check them out because they afford such awesome opportunities as this one!

I am really excited to provide you guys with Convention updates for the next week or so.  I will be on the Convention floor as well as present for Obama’s keynote address at Invesco Field.  I’m hoping to relate my experiences at the DNC to all of your readerse in a way that is both entertaining and informative.  Talk to you soon.
